National grandparents day at Infokus - Its a Generation Celebration
In recognition of National Grandparents Day, the Irish Professional Photographers Association (IPPA) in conjunction with Friends of the Elderly and their sponsors, Cadbury’s Roses have just held a nationwide competition via the Sunday Times and online at http://www.grandparentsoftheyear.com/ to find the Grandparent of the Year 2011.
Part of he overall prize for this competition will include a superb photographic Portrait of the winner and their extended family of at least three generations. Each of the 26 County finalists will also receive a Generations Portrait Voucher, redeemable through any of the 60 participating IPPA professional photographers.
Friends of the Elderly national Coordinator Allison Murphy says “Friends of the Elderly is a volunteer based Irish charity that aims to alleviate social isolation and loneliness amongst older people in Ireland through friendship. The average age of our Elderly friends is 76 years and within our total membership women out number men by three to one. We try to help socially, emotionally and in many other ways.”
Of course, every family believes that theirs are Grandparents of the Year on National grandparents day, every year and IPPA photographers nationwide want every family to share in celebrating their generations by bringing all their loved-ones together. Because above all we need love!
The IPPA participating professionals are inviting you to a Generations Family Portrait session to celebrate Grandparents Day 2011. The Gift, which is valued at around €200, includes a portrait session with the photographer of your choice and also includes one gift-sized portrait for your grandparents who are celebrating National Grandparents Day.
